Q
Does she have any new projects lined up?

A

As far as I know, no. Vinyl has been renewed for a second season, but no shooting dates have been announced yet! Next up, she'll be doing plenty of press for Captain America: Civil War, but I wouldn't be surprised if she just took some time off -- she had a crazy year last year that really JUST ended with the Oscars.

MARVEL announces program for Girl Scientists

"This is such a great opportunity for girls to use their ingenuity and intelligence in science. I myself was terrible at math and science growing up, I'm not ashamed to admit, but I am so inspired by these young women and what they have to offer the world. I truly can't wait to meet these finalists and have them explain their work. I'll try not to annoy them with way too many questions."

Q
Did Fiona move to New York?

A

as far as I can tell, she still has her house in LA, and there have been no reports that she's put it on the market. I have heard that she's looking for a place in New York, now that Vinyl has been renewed for a second season. I assume there will be some announcement on the reality of that, if and when she finds a place!

"It really is such an honor to be nominated -- and I know people say that, but it really is. The company of people I've been in throughout this whole awards season has been the best part. I don't think we're competitive, because we have nothing to do with this part. Our work is done and stands on its own. It is disappointing, of course, that Todd [Haynes] wasn't nominated, nor the film. I find myself very protective over this film, and the people who put their heart and souls into it. This film really was nothing without Todd, so his not being recognized felt like a bit of a gut-punch to us, I think. I saw this thing online, an article that it the problem with the film in the Academy's eyes wouldn't have been that it was a gay story -- they've awarded many nominations and wins to films like Brokeback Mountain or The Kids are Alright -- but these films had men at the center of them. The men in our film weren't integral to the core story at all. Todd didn't want to show any form of male pleasure or strength in the film -- and yet the men weren't demonized. That wasn't the story we were telling, though, and as women, we stood strong in our characters and their journeys throughout. There was no need to bring in the 'male gaze', but maybe if we had, the film and Todd would have been nominated. I'm so proud of it, and I'm so proud of the overall response, particularly from fans of it. It's been the best part of this journey." - Fiona Wolfmeyer on Carol and the Oscars.

Dearest. There are no accidents and he would have found us one way or another. Everything comes full circle. Be grateful it was sooner rather than later. You’ll think it harsh of me to say so, but no explanation I offer will satisfy you. Please don’t be angry when I tell you that you seek resolutions and explanations because you’re young. But you will understand this one day. And when it happens, I want you to imagine me there to greet you like the morning sky, our lives stretched out ahead of us, a perpetual sunrise. But until then, there must be no contact between us. I have much to do, and you, my darling, even more. Please believe that I would do anything to see you happy and so I do the only thing I can - I release you.
